It’s the latest flu season in 25 years, but here at BJU, as well as all around the world, cases of the flu have jumped up these last few weeks. Fortunately, most cases are typical and there’s no sign of any swine-fluish pandemic. In fact, the season overall is very mild, but it brings up a good time to discuss basic prevention of the flu, as well as how to treat it. Some of my tips include:
- Vitamin D supplements
- Elderberry and zinc to decrease symptoms and severity
- Gargling three times a day
- Chicken soup actually does help
- Sleeping 8 hours a night
